Our Heritage

The Inuvik Heritage Society is dedicated to exploring and interpreting the heritage, genealogy and history of Inuvik, Northwest Territories.

Meetings of the Society are held at the Inuvik Centennial Library.

The "database" link on the left will take you to a separate page which will allow you to view, edit* or enter* information about the people of Inuvik and area.
You MUST register and login to this area in order to edit or enter information. No login is required to view what others have already done.
Please let us know what sources you are using for your information (eg personal family history, interview with subjects, newspaper (please provide title and issue date), funeral programs, family bibles, or whatever other sources you might have available.
It is through your help that this database will grow into THE reference for Inuvik and the Beaufort Delta.

We are pleased to announce that Dick Hill, long time resident and the first Mayor of Inuvik, has graciously contributed an article for publication.

We hope this article will be the first of many, as we learn more about this place some of us call home.
